Warners Knows Here There Be Dragons
James A Owen’s story finds three strangers- John, Jack and Charles – in London during World War One. Through reasons to complicated to be explained here (read: we don’t have that information) they’re gifted the Imaginarium Geographica, a big fancy atlas that doesn’t show the regular continents, but instead charts every mythical land ever to crop up in a fable or story. The three have to travel to the Archipelago Of Dreams and battle dark forces (them again) that threaten two worlds.
Strathairn Joins Spiderwick Chronicles
Good Night, And Good Luck’s David Strathairn is in demand again.
He’s nabbed a lead role in Paramount’s fantasy wanna-franchise The Spiderwick Chronicles, which finds three kids moving to their great uncle’s ancient mansion, only to discover a magical tome which transports them to a new world. Because all ancient mansions come with those as standard.

With Lionsgate now in the production driver’s seat, James Mangold’s Western remake 3:10 to Yuma is starting to fill up as it prepares to start shooting.
Peter Fonda, Gretchen Mol, X-Men: The Last Stand’s Ben Foster, Vinessa Shaw and Mol’s The Notorious Bettie Page co-star Dallas Robots have joined the cast. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are already aboard, playing a desperado being brought to justice by a sheriff on the titular train, before the crook’s accomplices stage and ambush to try and rescue him.
